From April 25 to 27, 2025, plunge into the heart of history with the Journées Romaines de Nîmes, a not-to-be-missed event for history buffs and the curious. For three days, the city of Nîmes will be decked out in its ancient garb for a total immersion in Roman times.
On the program:
- A grand historical spectacle in the Nîmes arenas: a spectacular 2-hour re-enactment with over 600 extras from all over Europe, offering a fascinating journey back to the time of the gladiators and the Roman legions.
- Entertainment throughout the town: costume parades, live shows, historical demonstrations and activities for all ages.
- Emblematic sites to discover: the Jardins de la Fontaine, the Maison Carrée and the Musée de la Romanité host events and workshops to deepen your knowledge of daily life, traditions and the arts of the Roman era.
