From 1653 to 1826, Château de Caveirac passed through the hands of three different families: the Boisson, Sartre and Novy families. Today, a large part of this magnificent residence belongs to the town of Caveirac.
During the 18th century, the château was the scene of violent clashes in the Vaunage region, pitting the troops of King Louis XIV against the Camisards led by Jean Cavalier. These events left an indelible mark on the region's history.
The chateau's 1st floor study was listed as a Monument Historique on December 23, 1981, while the rest of the residence, including the outbuildings and garden, are also listed. This official recognition testifies to the architectural and historical value of this remarkable residence.
