Enjoy a pleasant family walk in the shade, with superb views of the surrounding cliffs. On this hike, you'll discover the hermitage cave, dating from the Neolithic period, and the charming Romanesque Notre-Dame de Laval chapel, built in the 12th century.
Start from the Market Square car park in Collias, cross the picturesque Collias Bridge and drive past the Maison du Castor. Then follow the sign "Le Grand Devois" and take the path marked in yellow. After about 600 meters along the Gardon on the right bank, you will reach the sign "Cantadu". Turn left (stone cross) towards the Hermitage, about 1.7 km away.
On site, discover the cave of the hermitage and the Romanesque chapel Notre-Dame de Laval. Then take the track on the right towards Collias and "Contadu" for 2 kilometers. Then continue on the main trail following the yellow markings to find the path taken at the beginning of the hike.
You can also opt for a longer variant, the big loop (12.2 km/ 4h15). At the sign "Grand Serre", turn left and follow the yellow marked path for 3.1 kilometers. At the sign "Caunèze", take the path on the left and follow it for 1.9 km. Continue straight and, at the sign "La Torte", continue for 3.8 kilometers to return to the village of Collias.
Le terrain varie entre rochers, terre et revêtements durs tels que le goudron, le ciment et les planchers, offrant une diversité intéressante tout au long de la randonnée. Website
